In secondary schools, the length of the standard track is 400 m. Each curve is semi-circular with a radius of 36 m at the innermost circle. Each lane is 1.2 m wide, and there are eight lanes.

The circumference of the inner circle is 400 m, and the radius of each curve should be 36.5 m. Each curve should have eight lanes whose width is 1.22 m, while each straightway should have 10 lanes.

The length of the safety zone on the inner side of the track should be no less than 1 m, and it is better to establish a safety zone with a length of 1 m on the outer side. The length of the starting area should be at least 3 m and the buffer area for final spurt should be at least 17 m. Both lateral and longitudinal inclination of the track shall not exceed 1:1000.
